(Bangalore Open Diary)
Bangalore, March 8 (IANS) At last there was a sizeable crowd at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association Stadium here to watch the Bangalore Open. Many feel that Sania Mirza’s withdrawal had kept fans away as top international players slugged it out in front of empty stands. The organisers heaved a sigh of relief Saturday to see the stands filled up, somewhat.
Evidently, the fans came to witness the Williams sisters slug it out. The organisers hope to have a near full house Sunday when the finals are scheduled.
All those wanting to watch quality tennis can also quench their thirst with chilled beer at the KSLTA Stadium.
One of the famous brands has opened a stall in the food court and is offering draught as well as canned beer much to the delight of the crowd.
