Dec 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The search for the new Florida Football coach, has finally come to an end, as the team found their new coach in none other than the Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. For long, the fans of Texas Longhorns were speculating that the defensive coordinator might be hired as the team’s head coach, but for some reasons, it was never materialized. This new opportunity offered to Will Muschamp by Florida Gators, would definitely give a better opportunity to explore his potential as a head coach.
In January 2008, Mack Brown, Texas head coach, hired Will Muschamp to be its defensive coordinator. At that time, he predicted that Will Muschamp is a man with full potential and he is bright enough to be the head coach one day. His long term aim would be to bag the national championship (for the Texas). He hoped that would happen during his association with Texas. However, it seems that he now has more opportunity to materialize his dreams under the Florida Gators, as he would no more serve Texas. Will Muschamp has replaced the ex-Florida coach, Urban Meyer. However, quite surprisingly, the search for the head coach on the part of Florida Gators did not even last for more than a week.
Although Urban Meyer explained that the reason he was quitting the job of Florida coach was because he wanted to spend time with his family, speculations have been ripe about the reason for his resignation. Some sources speculate that it could be attributed to the opening of the Denver Broncos job, as right on the day, Josh McDaniels was fired from the Broncos, Urban Meyer also resigned as the head coach of Florida. However, it seems that Florida was not at all disappointed with his resignation as his potential as a coach was not fully exploited this season with a mediocre finishing score of 7-5.
