Jan 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Will Muschamp is being considered to be a likely candidate for the recently vacated post of the football coach of the University of Tennessee. Until recently, Lane Kiffin had been the football coach at the University of Tennessee. He announced his decision to resign rather abruptly, stating that he would be joining the University of Southern California to fill in for the post of the football coach of the University, Pete Carroll. Following his resignation, the University had been rather in a flurry regarding the vacant position of the football coach.
Will Muschamp is being considered as the one most likely to be approached to step into the shoes of Lane Kiffin. Currently, Will Muschamp is the defensive coordinator of the football team at the University of Texas. In fact, he has been chosen to be the one to succeed the football coach of the University of Texas, Mack Brown. However, that seems to be a rather far away idea, considering that Mack Brown still has almost seven years of his career left at the University.
It is this fact that lends some credibility to the otherwise improbable and far-fetched proposition. Moreover, it is true that the University of Tennessee does rank quite high in terms of facility, tradition and conference affiliation. On the other hand, the University of Texas is considered by many to be even better in those terms. However, everything is a matter of speculation still, and the final decision of the University of Tennessee, which is also looking at other possible candidates, will be declared one of the coming days.
