Will MuschampDec 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Will Muschamp, the new head coach of Florida Gators, held his first news conference after assuming his new role. The journalists who were present at the press conference, were under the impression that he was so excited about his newly acquired promotion, that he could not keep a bound on his mouth. He spoke for twenty minutes, almost non stop, with a pair of twinkling eyes. A journalist wittily described his pace as “a mile a minute.”

However, he said certain important things about the team and its composition in the press conference, that took place on Tuesday. He said that so far he has not hired any assistant coach and he does not intend to announce it until the Bowl Game on January 1. Recently, certain media reports came up with the speculation, that Will Muschamp wants to hire Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart and Texas running back coach Major Applewhite, for Florida Gators. However, he declined these rumors in the press conference. He is most likely to have Mickey Merotti as the teams’ strength coach, along with a few others who are yet to be decided by him. He intends to coach the defensive plays himself, while expecting to call for a pro-style offensive coach with a good NFL experience.

Regarding the opening of the recruitment procedure, he said that he does not want to abide by any timetable for hiring any stuffs. He believes that it is not about doing the easiest or quickest thing, but about making the best decision for the team. As of now, he is all set to continue recruiting as par the plans of Urban Meyer, while the rest of the team is getting prepared to confront the Penn State for Outback Bowl.
