Wigan sign Honduras midfielder Thomas
July 2nd, 2009 - 4:08 pm ICT by IANSLondon, July 2 (DPA) Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez made his first signing for the club Thursday, landing midfielder Hendry Thomas, subject to international clearance.
The 24-year-old becomes the third Honduran to join the club, following Luis Antonio Valencia, who left for Manchester United earlier in the week, and full-back Maynor Figueroa.
He would have joined last season, but had not played sufficient games for his country to meet the work-permit requirements.
Thomas, who joins from Deportivo Olimpia for an undisclosed fee, has agreed a three-year contract.
