When two women tried to open aircrafts door at 30,000ft!July 27th, 2008 - 4:13 pm ICT by ANI
London, July 27 (ANI): A holiday jet had to make an emergency landing after two women tried to open the cabin door mid-flight at 30,000ft and then tried to attack cabin crew with a vodka bottle.
Two unnamed women on the XL Airways flight from Kos to Manchester turned finicky after staff on the flight did not give them more alcohol.
A police spokesman said that the aircraft had to make an emergency landing at Frankfurt Airport in Germany while the women were held in their seats by security staff till the time they were arrested.
Both the passengers not only breached airline safety rules by smoking in the toilets, but also smuggled their own alcohol onboard.
On being denied more alcohol, the pair started threatening and swearing at the crew, and the scene turned wilder when they said that they wanted to open the door at 30,000 feet to get “some fresh air” into the plane.
A XL spokesman said the airline was considering legal action against the women.
“Diverting a plane in this way is a very costly and expensive business. We are now considering whether to pursue the two passengers for costs, The Telegraph quoted her, as saying.
One passenger told Bavarian Radio: “It was a hell of a scene. One of them was lashing out with a vodka bottle after being refused more booze and the other went to the emergency exit yelling: ”I want some fresh air.”” (ANI)
