Whatmore asks KKR players of no more slip-ups in IPL
May 3rd, 2011 - 1:11 pm ICT by ANIHyderabad, May 3 (ANI): Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) coach Dav Whatmore has asked his players that he doesn’t want to see more slip ups in the upcoming crucial match against the Deccan Chargers (DC) in Hyderabad.
In their last game, KKR had defeated Kings XI Punjab by eight wickets in Kolkata on Saturday.
Whatmore said he was happy with his team’s performance in the last game and would like to record more wins in the tournament.
“To continue and win as many games as possible and there is still more cricket to be played in the competition as you know, and slipping up is really not on the agenda like every other team but yes we also lost some games however but now back winning, we have got to continue that,” said Whatmore.
He added that he was banking on Mark Boucher’s experience of playing in the subcontinent for the next match.
Also, Darren Lehmann, coach of Deccan Chargers, said that his team was disappointed with their last defeat against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
“Yes, it is disappointing when you lose, there is no doubt that, because you are really sad when you lose, they are disappointed and they know it that without good support throughout the years. So we just want to play and try a better way to get some success and if we get couple of wins then all is forgotten but you do feel pressure, it is just part of it,” said Lehmann.
Meanwhile, players of KKR and DC arrived at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium for a gruelling practice session ahead of their match on Tuesday. (ANI)
