sigmaIndianapolis, Apr 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lady luck was surely not smiling at West Virginia during Saturday night’s national semifinals of the NCAA tournament as not only did the team suffer a humiliating defeat in the hands of Duke but one of its key players Da’Sean Butler was also left injured. In the much anticipated game, Duke defeated West Virginia by the score 78-57, which left all its fans highly disappointed.

The showdown between the West Virginia and Duke turned out to be a highly eventful one as Da’Sean Butler, the forward of West Virginia suffered a knee injury with just few minutes remaining in the game after he clashed with Duke player Brian Zoubek during the second half of the game. The much acclaimed West Virginia forward immediately collapsed to the floor clutching his knee dashing the hopes of the large number of West Virginia fans who had gathered to watch the game.

As the 22 year old player lay in pain in the floor, he was soon joined by Bob Huggins, the coach of the West Virginia team who stroked the senior forward’s hair in an attempt to calm him down. As Da’Sean Butler had drawn a foul while driving into the Duke player when he was injured, Bob Huggins expressed his displeasure over the decision and emphasized that a foul should have been called on the Duke player instead. However, unable to lift his leg, the injured West Virginia senior forward was helped out of the venue by a teammate and a trainer. With the help of a golf cart, Da’Sean Butler headed back to the locker room to the utter disappointment of all his fans.
