West Indies fined for slow over rate in T20 against Pak
April 23rd, 2011 - 3:24 pm ICT by ANISt Lucia, Apr 23(ANI): West Indies have been fined for a slow over rate during Thursday’s seven-run victory over Pakistan in their Twenty20 international match at St Lucia’s Beausejour Cricket Ground.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said that Darren Sammy’s men were ruled to be one over short of its target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration.
Each member of the team will be fined 10 percent of their match fees and captain Sammy fined by 20 percent, Stuff.co.nz reports.
The offence is contrary to Article 2.5.1 of the code which relates to minor over-rate offences.
West Indies and Pakistan will now play the first ODI of a five-match series at the same venue today. (ANI)
