West Ham United offers 7.5 million pounds for Henry

London, May 22(ANI): West Ham United has offered a 7.5 million pound bid to sign Barcelona striker Thierry Henry.
Hammers Joint-Chairman David Sullivan is offering a two-year deal to land Henry, and he is also prepared to pay the French star around 75,000 pounds a week.
“We’re trying to assemble a more prolific strike force at West Ham and I’d love to have Henry here. Our club is in debt, but a striker of his quality and standing would make it a great deal. Henry is still up there with the best,” The Sun quoted Sullivan, as saying.
“I’ve made an offer which would make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history. And it’s a serious offer because Henry could walk into almost any Premier League side,” he added.
Sullivan further said that Avram Grant’s imminent appointment as West Ham’s new manager will not trigger a reshuffle of players.
“We do not anticipate losing more than two first-team players. The idea is to sell maybe two and a few fringe players and bring in five new ones,” Sullivan said.
“We do not want to decimate the squad but rebuild it,” he added. (ANI)
