London, Jan.16 (ANI): A talented West Ham prodigy has signed a million pound record deal to blow his saxophone. Former academy schoolboy footballer Tyler Rix was at West Ham’’s ground Upton Park today to sign a record deal with Universal Music. Record executives discovered the 16-year-old saxophonist when he took part in BBC2s Classical Star TV talent show.
Bosses at Universal Classics and Jazz gave the teen the chance to join their label which represents Amy Winehouse, Take That and Jamie Cullum.
Tyler had a tough decision to make though whether to pursue football or music, reports The Sun.
At the age of 15 he experienced a string of successes as a footballer. Snapped up on the day of his trial, he played several times at Upton Park and was prominently featured in Junior Soccer, a coaching guide produced in association with West Ham United.
