Wenger blasts Wolves for handing arch-rivals Man U win on a platter

London, Dec 17(ANI): Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has condemned Wolverhampton Wanderers for playing a second-string team against Manchester United, which saw them surrender meekly to a 3-0 defeat.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy named a second-string side for the trip to Old Trafford, claiming that his entire team needed freshening up after the weekend win over Tottenham Hotspur.
“It was very disappointing. We will have to compete with Man United over 37 games now and not 38,” The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.
“It’s sad but what can I do about that? I’m responsible for Arsenal,” he added.
Wenger further said that it also raised question over the credibility of the Premier League.
He also voiced his frustration with planning of the League and said: “The Premier League has a basic problem in organizing the fixtures in a normal way. There are some teams that don’t play at all and we play Sunday, Wednesday away and on Saturday against Hull, who haven’t played all week.” (ANI)
