The bout that took place at the Palms Casino Resort witnessed the Mexican-American bantamweight champion defeat his opponent with a split-decision in the main event on WEC 50. Anticipation regarding the fight was skyrocketing among all the ardent followers of Dominick Cruz as this was the very first time that he was defending his title since he won the belt in the month of March this year.
