Kumar Sangakkara Mumbai, Dec 6 (IANS) After tasting two consecutive innings defeat against India, Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara accepted that his boys were completely outperformed.
Sri Lanka lost the third and final Test against India by an innings and 24 runs at the Brabourne Stadium here Sunday. The first Test in Ahmedabad ended in a draw but India won the second Test in Kanpur by an innings and 144 runs.

“It was tough but India outperformed us in all three departments of the game in the last two Tests. In this game, we nearly put 400 runs but Virender Sehwag came and took the game away from us,” said Sangakkara, who hit a defiant 137 in the second innings here.

“The guys fought hard in this series but it was not enough. The batting of Tillakaratne (Dilshan), Prasana (Jayawardene) and (Thilan) Samaraweera and fast bowler Chanaka Welegedera were the positives. Congrats to the Indian team who did well as a unit, someone always stepped up to perform,” he said.
