We are looking forward to the next game: Sabella
September 3rd, 2011 - 1:29 am ICT by IANSKolkata, Sep 2 (IANS) After registering a 1-0 victory against Venezuela, Argentina’s new chief soccer coach Alejandro Sabella Friday said he and his team are looking forward towards the next game.
?Well I am happy because we won the game. I am happy because being the coach of the Argentinean national side was a dream and it has come true,? said Sabella on how he felt about his successful debut as the coach of the national side.
Argentina beat Venezuela 1-0 in the FIFA international football friendly here at the Salt Lake Stadium Friday.
Nicolas Otamendi scored the lone goal of the match in the 67th minute.
Lionel Messi with his excellent ball distribution and the curling left footed freekick that hit the sidenetting showed Friday that he deserves all the praise, despite his lack of full intensity and unfamiliarity with the artificial turf, he said.
Messi seemed a constant lurking danger for the Veenzuelans and finally the crowd went berserk when he unleashed a measured corner from the left which Otamendi put home with a drop header to break the goalless deadlock.
?We are looking forward for the next game. It is too soon to make an analysis. I need some time. I shall sit with the players I need lot more time with players,? said Sabella.
Asked about the lessons he has taken from this game in order to prepare the team for the next face off with Venezuela in October, Sabella said: “I must see the game again on the video to build a conclusion…. it will take time. The team has lot of potential. We are looking forward… we will take conclusions from the game.”
