Wayamba beat Victoria, but fail to qualify for second stage
October 13th, 2009 - 8:49 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS) Wayamba Elevens of Sri Lanka defeated Australia’s Victoria Bushrangers by 15 runs in their Champions League Twenty20 Group D cricket match here Tuesday.
Chasing a victory target of 119 runs, Victoria were restricted to 103 for four in 20 overs.
Despite the win, the Sri Lankan team failed to qualify for the second stage, losing out to Victoria on net run rate.
Delhi Daredevils is the other team to qualify from the group.
