Aug 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) If on one hand the Washington Redskins acquired quarterback John Beck from the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, then on the other hand they also got into a mood to curtail a player who has not played for the team long enough. Quarterback Colt Brennan on Monday was released by the Washington Redskins. The player who was a sixth-round draft pick in 2008 had never played for the team and was out of the field last year due to hip surgery. However, the release has come as total surprise for the player who had hoped to continue his career and prove his worth under the Washington Redskins.
Colt Brennan voiced that he was totally surprised to learn about his release. In a telephone interview to a media source just after his leaving Washington Redskins Park, Colt Brennan mentioned that he had no inkling of the release and had thought that it was yet another good day with a good practice session. However, the player seems to have no grudges against the Washington Redskins management and maintains that his release is a sheer part of business. Colt Brennan said that the team wanted to provide him with a chance early on in the camp and added that they did not want to put him in a bad position.
Colt Brennan praised Kyle Shanahan as an “awesome guy” and maintained that he loved the coaching staff of the team. The player mentioned that the team has said to him that they would do anything to help him. The management has mentioned to him reportedly that they just wanted to give Colt Brennan a chance to play somewhere.
