Jim Zorn Washington, Jan 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Washington Redskins have fired their head coach Jim Zorn. This development happened just after a 23-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers ended a season, which yielded just four wins. Jim Zorn still had a year left on his contract with the Redskins.

“The status quo is not acceptable,” Redskins general manager Bruce Allen, who has been in the job for three weeks, said in a statement. “I felt it was necessary to not waste a moment of time to begin building this team into a winner.” After being fired the post of the head coach is vacant and it is expected to be replaced by former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan in the next few days, the Washington Post reported, citing team officials.

The Washington Redskins fired Jim Zorn early in the morning at around 4 AM and have also scheduled a team meeting and press conference later today. His firing didn’t come as a surprise to many because people were expecting him to be fired after the dismal performance of the team. And they also said that it was inevitable since the beginning of the dismal season for the Washington Redskins.
