Landover, Sep 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mike Shanahan paced outside the field on Sunday night as his team, Washington Redskins took the field against Dallas Cowboys. The team took to the field for the first time under the guidance of Mike Shanahan who had himself remained a two times Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos. In the season opening game, Washington Redskins defeated their rival Dallas Cowboys by 13-7.
Mike Shanahan replaced Jim Zorn after last season’s record of 4-12 and on Sunday night he was more than busy directing his team from the sidelines to extract a win. He was seen howling not only orders from the sidelines but also cheering his team to success. It was under his tutelage on Sunday that the Washington Redskins were able to break the three-game losing streak. The defense line of the Washington Redskins on Sunday night mirrored up to some extent the Mike Shanahan era play. It was the strong defense of the team that kept the Dallas Cowboys at the bay.
After Washington Redskins’ win an excited but composed Mike Shanahan said to media sources that one needs to find ways to win in the business of football and that his team did just the same. He added that some of the teams were very close to win and a team that wants to excel should know how to get things done and that is what his team did. Mike Shanahan also maintained that the win means a lot as Dallas Cowboys is a very good football team. Mentioning that the team “didn’t win a division game last year”, Mike Shanahan said that he thought it would be a great way to start off this year.
