virginiaLandover, Sep 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sounds of sighs were heard on Monday night at the FedEx Stadium as the Virginia Tech football team suffered a last minute loss to the Boise State University Broncos. Although it is not for the first time that the team had suffered a loss in the opening game, this time it had a favorable crowd to cheer it to success. However, the Landover, Maryland crowd were only left to go for sigh with each penalty and gaffe that spread all over Virginia Tech University’s play against Boise State football team.

Virginia Tech football team, which is considered as one of the top ranking football teams in United States fell short of expectation in the first quarter trailing the Boise State team by 17 points. The Virginia Tech team, which is well known for its dynamic rushing backs, its special team plays and defense work, had all these elements missing on first quarter with blunders that led Boise State team to go for two touchdowns. In the second and third quarter however, the team came forward with some good play and was seen providing a lead in the game. However, Virginia Tech University Hokies failed to restrict its opponent who went for the winning touchdown at the last minute.

However, the Monday night’s game was only the season opening game for Virginia Tech University football team and it was for the fourth time that it lost its season opening game. Virginia Tech University suffered some early losses even in 2007 and 2008 but in both these years it won the conference championship. Virginia Tech University Football Coach Frank Beamer therefore is still hopeful of his team’s future this season.
