Dec.18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The resignation of Vinny Cerrato has drawn mixed response from the fans of Washington Redskins. Some people thought he was fired but that was not the case. The executive vice-president of Washington Redskins led the third most important sports franchise of the world to a disastrous finish in NFC East. The news of his resignation and arrival of Bruce Allen spread quickly in the web and among the staff of the team. Some workers of ESPN 980 a station which is owned and managed by Daniel Snyder, the Redskin owner were informed earlier that a major change will take place.
However, some of the fans have found it quite ironical that Vinny Cerrato is leaving at a time when some of his policies have started showing positive signs for the team. He was criticized mainly for his stint with the draft and free agency. Some of the insiders considered Vinny Cerrato to be a mere puppet dancing to the tunes of Daniel Snyder. A number of players drafted during Vinny Cerrato’s tenure as the team’s executive vice president have seemingly improved over the years. Examples include Devin Thomas, a wide receiver and Brian Orakpo, side linebacker.
Some of the fans of the team have written in their blogs that they did not really expect Vinny Cerrato to resign so soon. Devin Thomas said in his statement that it is quite odd to see that the person who brought him in the team has to leave unceremoniously and amidst confusion. According to him, Vinny Cerrato had a good rapport with the players he introduced.
