Villanova Registers Victory Against William And Mary, Moves To The Finals

matchVillanova, Pa., Dec.12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Villanova football team registered a scintillating victory against William and Mary on Friday night, which enabled them to move forward in the FCS National Championship. The Villanova team defeated their opponents by a score of 14-13 in the much anticipated semifinal clash.

During the first half, the winning team failed to make any mark as they remained scoreless. However, they soon recovered and gained control of the game as they delivered two touchdowns in the second half. Andy Talley, coach of the Villanova team accepted that the first half the game was ruled by William and Mary as his team trailed at 10-0 during halftime. However, the Villanova fans did not remain disappointed for very long as the team’s wide receiver Matt Szczur gave an amazing performance as he registered a touchdown during the third quarter of the game after running for an impressive 62 yards. The game also witnessed five instant replay reviews with one of them being overturned which eventually contributed immensely to the team’s victory. Quarterback Chris Whitney helped his team to take the lead when he scored from 1 yard during the fourth quarter of the match.

With the victory, the Villanova ensured their position in the final clash which would be taking place at Chattanooga, Tenn in the upcoming weekend. In the match, the team would be facing the winner of Saturday’s game when the Appalachian State gear up to clash against No. 1 ranked Montana. If the Villanova team manages to register a win in the next match then this would be their first ever national championship victory.
