Vettori considering retirement from ODIs after World Cup
March 13th, 2011 - 5:28 pm ICT by ANIWellington, Mar 13 (ANI): New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori is reportedly considering retiring from one-day international cricket after the World Cup.
He would however, keep playing test series, and possibly Twenty20 internationals to remain marketable for future matches of the Indian Premier League, the New Zealand Herald reports.
Vettori, who has recently suffered knee injury, has been bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Its billionaire owner Vijay Mallya sees him as a player with the sort of impact to replace Anil Kumble as a spinning all-rounder this season.
Although no decision has been made on any retirement as of now, it is believed that he has started to consider the prospect.
Vettori has 4167 test runs and 345 wickets in his record. (ANI)
