Vettel edges Hamilton for Malaysian Grand Prix pole
April 9th, 2011 - 8:29 pm ICT by ANISepang, Apr 9(ANI): Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel claimed his third consecutive pole in a dramatic qualifying session ahead of tomorrow’s Malaysian Grand Prix.
Vettel pipped McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton by 0.114secs for Sunday’s 56- lap race.
The reigning champion had started on the pole and won the 2010 season-finale in Abu Dhabi and then did the same two weeks ago in this season’s opening round in Melbourne’s Albert Park.
Vettel’s teammate, Mark Webber, qualified third, while McLaren’s Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso from Ferrari rounded out the top-five, the Telegraph reports.
Nick Heidfeld lines up sixth in his Renault, followed by the second Ferrari of Felipe Massa, Renault’s Vitaly Petrov, Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg and Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi.
Hispania Racing Team’s Narain Karthikeyan will start 24th. (ANI)
