London, Nov 2 (ANI): Robin Van Persie is desperate to face rival Emmanuel Adebayor in Arsenal’s powder keg Carling Cup quarter-final at Manchester City.
Adebayor stamped on Van Persie in the sides’ league clash in September.
“I want to play in that one. I’d love to play. If the boss decides to let me play, I’m happy. It will be a good game because Man City have a good side. If we can find the right mix - like we did in the last round against Liverpool - we’ve a big chance of winning,” The Sun quoted Van Persie, as saying.
Dutchman Van Persie was left with a gashed face when former Arsenal teammate Adebayor raked him with his studs in City’s 4-2 win at Eastlands.
The Football Association hit Adebayor with a three-match ban for violent conduct.
The Togo hitman was also fined for running the length of the pitch to celebrate a goal in front of Arsenal’s travelling fans. (ANI)
