Uthappa stars in Karnataka win
October 18th, 2011 - 8:00 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Oct 18 (IANS) Robin Uthappa celebrated his recall to the Indian team with a match-winning 59 off 29 balls as Karnataka beat Tamil Nadu by eight wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy South Zone T20 tournament, here Tuesday.
Skipper Uthappa’s knock, studded with three sixes and seven boundaries, helped Karnataka overhaul Tamil Nadu’s 131 for nine in 16.5 overs and take the lead in the points table with three consecutive wins as against the hosts’ two from three outings.
Tamil Nadu’s innings featured a knock of 52 by Dinesh Karthik (33b, 4 x 4, 3 x 6) and an unbeaten 30 (18b, 3 x 4, 1 x 6) by Shrivasudevadas while Stuart Binny claimed three for 17.

Later, Bharat Chipli chipped in with 38 not out (29b, 7 x 4) and added 58 runs for the third wicket with Gantesh Satish (18 not out) as the visitors made 135 for two in 16.5 overs.
