USA vs Haiti: 2009 Golden Cup
July 13th, 2009 - 12:38 am ICT by GD ( 1 comment )The outcome of the July 11 soccer match between the US and Haiti ended with a 2-2 draw, much to the disappointment of the fans of both the teams present at the venue. The final Group B match took place in the Gillette Stadium. The match had begun with the stand that either a win or a draw would put US at the head of Group. The US team has already secured a place in the quarter finals of the tournament after managing to bring the results of the match to a woeful tie.
It was due to the sheer effort of Stuart Holden Golazo from the US team, in the final flickering moments of the second half injury time, that the United Sstates Men’s National Team could ensure their entry in to the quarter finals of the 2009 Gold Cup. The Americans now have finished with seven points in their kitty, which should be quite sufficient to see the team through the tournament safely.
Les Grenadiers managed to earn four points in three. Next Saturday night onwards, the teams will be advancing to the knock out stage.
The star from the US side was obviously Stuart Holden Golazo. He put the ball in the net that helped US clinch the quarterfinal entry. Seems like his increased responsibilities towards his team is reflecting in his play. He displayed his defensive abilities to the fullest.
USA has never lost a first round game in tournament history till now. Group A winner Canada will play an early quarterfinal next week in Philadelphia. Group A runner up Costa Rica will be paying in Dallas.

I am wondering why you mentioned Haiti only once in your article in spite of their valiant effort yesterday.
