Among the news that is catching up fire recently among sports lovers around the world is the Confederation Cup 2009 final where USA met long time champions, Brazil. The stalwart, Brazil won the match by 3-2 over USA. But this match was indeed important for soccer lovers as the USA team gave quite a shock to the all time favorites Brazil who received two goals from the Americans. As the confederation cup progressed, to the wonder of all, USA defeated major teams like Italy, Egypt and Spain to go up to the finals.

The wining goal came from Lucio in the 84th minute making them the champions of the Confederation cup for the third time.

In their previous meetings, Brazil had ousted the USA team 14 times among their 15 encounters. Expectations of American fans grew when defeating the famous soccer team Spain, USA reached the finals.
