San Pedro Sula, Honduras, October 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States qualified for the soccer World Cup by earning a victory over the team of Honduras. Forward player, Conor Casey played well in the match and scored two goals. He had scored the goals in the second half of the match.

Two goals scored in the match against Honduras would be important landmark in the career of Casey as he did not have any international goal prior to this match. He came into the match as replacement Joze Altidore and gave his best. Though Casey under the instruction Bob Bradley, replaced Altidore to save him from getting one more Yellow Card but ultimately helped the team reserve its berth for World Cup matches.

Landon Donovan scored a goal for the US team and defeated Honduras with a score of 3-2. The Costa Rica match scheduled to be played on coming Wednesday was very important for the team [USA] as it was their final opportunity to qualify for World Cup. However, they are quite relaxed now as they have reserved their berth to play in South Africa for the World Cup.

Both the teams played well throughout the match. US had been leading with a score of 3-1 but later Honduras managed to score one more goal. The match was thrilling till the end and players were found in an exciting mood after the match.

US players did not have much glorious moments in the 2006 football World Cup as they were eliminated in the first round. They believe that they would recover their glory in this World Cup. To recover their glory and to play well in the World Cup, the team will have to prepare themselves in a better manner.
