US Misses Striker Charles Davies In World Cup 2010

Arlington, Virginia, October 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States have secured their berth to Africa for the Football World Cup 2010 but they would miss Charles Davies. 23 years old striker Davies was injured in a car accident and he had to undergo a surgery. Davies has started to recover from the injuries. Yet, the doctors stated that he would not be able to play the World Cup. Dan Kalbac, physician of U.S. Soccer stated, “Injuries of this nature usually require a recovery period of six to 12 months and extensive rehabilitation”
As stated by the U.S. Soccer Federation stated that the Davies’ injury was in femur bones and tibia of his right leg. The accident was fatal and Davies was in critical condition. Neil Buethe, the spokesperson for the federation stated that one person had died in the car accident. Though Davies has started to recover from the accident but he would have to undergo surgeries.
The team was upset after learning of the news of their striker’s accident. Bob Bradley, the coach of United States football team said that they would pray for Charlie Davies and other men who were injured in the car accident.
The fatal accident of Charlie Davies that had taken place in Alexandria’s George Washington Memorial Parkway will make him miss several matches in the coming days. The doctors have not yet made any statement on when he would be fit to play.
US will take on Costa Rica this Wednesday. It is expected that the team would play well. Charlie Davies injury is a great loss for the team as we was a talented footballer.
