Tiger Woods Celtic Manor (Wales), Oct 3(ANI): The United States golf team captain Corey Pavin has said that his team would bounce to seize the initiative in the Ryder Cup.
The US team holds a 6-4 lead over the European team, but currently trails in the six matches of the third session.

It is believed that unless the US team turns at least a couple of these matches around, it will be at a tremendous disadvantage going into the final 12 singles matches.

Most stunning is the team of Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker, which is 4-down through nine holes to Lee Westwood and Luke Donald in one of the two alternate shot matches left.

“It wasn’t a bad thing that it got dark. Obviously the team didn’t get off to a great start tonight, but we are just going to have to go back tonight, rest up, come out and fire at them,” The New York Daily News quoted Pavin, as saying.

“We are down in all six matches. But I have not seen points given for matches that are through four, five, six or seven holes, so we are to go out and try to turn those around and try to turn the momentum back in our favour,” he added.

Meanwhile, European team captain Colin Montgomerie believes that his team is in a strong position.

“None of these games is finished obviously, but we’re in a very, very strong position suddenly. It wasn’t going so well honestly. It was a bit stale. My objective at the start of this sessions was to get into the singles eight-all,” Montgomerie said.

“I felt there wasn’t enough passion on the golf course. We have plenty of ways of winning this, but we didn’t have the passion. I felt that with the team, I felt that with the spectators,” he added. (ANI)
