Arizona, Oct 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After losing their fifth straight game, the University of Arizona has fired their head coach Mike Stoops. He has been the head coach of the team for eight seasons now but the school announced on Monday that the relationship has come to an end.

The Wildcats are going through tough times but they least expected that they will lose to a team like Oregon State this season. Though they are going through difficult times, Oregon’s season was worst. Prior to the game against Arizona, Oregon had not won any game this season.

However they managed to beat the Wildcats 37-27 on Monday night to shock many pundits. The result was the last straw and Stoops was fired just after the game. Stoops had only managed just a win this season. That feat came at the opener of the season against Northern Arizona. If the later part of last season is added to the poor run, Arizona has only managed to win 1 game out of the 11 games they played over the period.

For the years that Stoops has been the coach of Arizona, the team has the record of 41-50. Before joining the Wildcats, Stoops was the co-defensive coordinator of Oklahoma where his brother Bob is the head coach.
