United Sports Club gets new sponsor
August 4th, 2011 - 12:45 am ICT by IANSKolkata, Aug 3 (IANS) City-based I-League team United Sports Club Wednesday roped in Prayag Group of Industries as its title sponsor for the next six years. The soccer club will now be rechristened Prayag United Sports Club.
Club secretary Alokesh Kundu and Prayag Industries chairman Basudeb Bagchi signed a memorandum of understanding here. All India Football Federation (AIFF) vice president Subrata Dutta and secretary Kushal Das also graced the programme.
Brazilian football Joshimar Martins will play for the club for the upcoming season. Ghanaian stars Bello Rassaq and Yusif Yakubu, besides New Zealander Ken Vincent, are among the other foreign recruits of the club, which secured the eighth position in the previous edition of the I-League.
Under the deal, the club will get a sponsorship grant of Rs.5 crore this season.
