Umpire, referee appointed for ODIs
August 20th, 2009 - 10:35 pm ICT by IBNSDubai, Aug 20 (IBNS) The ICC has announced umpire and match referee appointments for upcoming ODIs in Ireland, Scotland and England.
Roshan Mahanama of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees will lead the playing control team for the two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and seven-match ODI series between England and Australia.
The first three matches of the series will be umpired by Tony Hill of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires who will then hand over the charge to Asad Rauf, also from the elite panel, for the last four ODIs.
Prior to the ODI series, England will take on Ireland in Belfast on 27 August with Ranjan Madugalle of the Emirates Elite of ICC Match Referees as the match referee. Asad Rauf of the elite panel and Paul Baldwin of the ICC Associates and Affiliates International Umpires’ Panel will be the umpires.
In only the third ODI between the two countries, Australia will go head to head with Scotland in Edinburgh on 28 August with Mahanama as match referee. The match will be umpired by Tony Hill of the elite panel and Ian Ramage of the Associates and Affiliates panel.
Appointments for other upcoming series will be announced in due course.
