Umpire Billy Doctrove is down with chest infection
March 28th, 2009 - 8:58 am ICT by IANSNapier, March 28 (IANS) West Indian umpire Billy Doctrove did not come out to officiate on the third day of the second cricket Test between India and New Zealand here at McLean Park Saturday owing to illness. Doctrove has a chest infection and was replaced by New Zealand’s Evan Watkin, the third umpire.
Watkin came out with England’s Ian Gould when play resumed Saturday.
Former Otago player Chris Gaffaney, the fourth umpire, took over the duties of Watkin as television umpire.
