UFC 124 Fight Yielded Exciting Results

ufc_124_posterthumbnailMontreal, Dec 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The UFC 124 Fight Card was one exciting treat to all the UFC lovers. With five main card fights and six preliminary card fights, it was a breath taking event, which yielded some unpredictable results.

The first main card match was held between Champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Josh Koscheck. Quite predictably, the champion once again defeated the challenger to retain his welterweight title, through an unanimous decision, with a score of 50-45, from all the judges. In the second clash, Stefan Struve defeated Sean McCorkle, with the help of TKO punches, within 3:55 minutes of Round 1. This was the first time that Sean McCorkle saw a defeat in his home ground. Jim Miller defeated Charles Oliveira with the help of kneebar submission in 1:59 minutes of round 1. The fourth match was held between Mac Danzig and Joe Stevenson, where the former defeated the latter, via KO Punches in just 1:54 minutes of Round 1. The last and the fifth match clashed between Thiago Alves and John Howard, where the latter was defeated through an unanimous decision of 30-27, 30-27, 30-27.

In the Preliminary cards round, there were six matches. The first one was between Dan Miller and Joe Doerksen, which went in the favor of the former through a split decision of 29-28, 28-29, 29-28. In the next game, Mark Bocek won the match in Round 1, consuming 2:33 minutes, to defeat his opponent Dustin Hazelett, with the help of a triangle choke submission. In the third match, Rafael Natal and Jesse Bongfeldt, fought to a majority draw with a score of 28-28, 28-28, 29-28. The Sean Pierson versus Matt Riddle match and Ricardo Almeida versus T. J. Grant match, resulted in the victory of the formers, with the same unanimous scores of 30-27, 30-27, 30-27 in both the games. The last preliminary cards match, where John Makdessi confronted Pat Audinwood, also ended in the favor of the former, with a score of 30-27, 30-27, 30-26.
