edgarAug 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Undoubtedly each and every event of UFC comes with a certain amount of excitement which soars up with every passing day culminating at the main UFC event on Saturday night. On Friday night, the scene was no different at the UFC 118 weigh-in event as all fighter took the stage to make weights of the Saturday night UFC 118 fights. While crowds welcomed some of the fighters with thunderous applauds some others were booed out. However, there is no doubt about the fact that the results of the UFC 118 Weigh-ins have only increased the excitement of the viewers who are now anxiously waiting for the main event.

On Friday night, the Boston crowd that assembled at the TD Stadium cheered loud as BJ Penn took the stage to weigh at 154 pounds. The fighter undoubtedly will try to regain his lightweight championship title this time by fighting against Frankie Edgar, the present lightweight championship title holder who on Friday registered at the same weight. Although the crowd booed down Frankie Edgar, the fighter seemed unfazed.

Apart from BJ Penn Vs Frankie Edgar fight, UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture will be seen taking the ring against boxing great James Toney. As Randy Couture weighed in at 220 pounds the crowd cheered loud in excitement. The former two-division UFC champion said to media sources later on, “I look forward to welcoming James Toney to mixed martial arts”. However, James Toney seemed more in a mood to shake hands with Randy Couture who posed for a media photo-shoot after the event. The fight between Randy Couture and James Toney is being marketed as MMA vs. boxing and is expected to draw a huge crowd on Saturday.
