Tyler Hansbrough’s Jersey Number 50 Retired

tylerChapel Hill, North Carolina, Feb 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The talented basketball player of the Indiana Pacers, Tyler Hansbrough, who had exhibited some incredible performances in his college career has been rightly honored for his contribution. As per the reports, the basketball career of the young player is in jeopardy for his ear infection but that does not undermine his skills that had helped North Carolina win several matches. To pay him his due respect, the officials of North Carolina team decided to retire his jersey number 50.

According to the reports, a framed jersey was presented to Tyler Hansbrough in the ten minute ceremony that was planned in the interval of Tar Heel vs Duke’s game on Wednesday. The match between Tar Heel and Duke has always been extremely thrilling for the rivalry between these two teams. The excitement of yesterday’s match was heightened with the presence of Tyler Hansbrough, who had several times enjoyed a dominating position against the Duke’s team.

The career of Tyler Hansbrough had halted last spring and he had not been to Chapel Hill, after that. It has been reported that yesterday night was the first time that he came to this arena, after his basketball career received a hiatus. Tyler Hansbrough was overwhelmed to receive the honor of getting his jersey number retired as he considered his jersey number to be his “sign” and “stamp”".

Retiring of the jersey number has always been a great achievement for the players. It has been reported that, in the history of Tar Heels, seven players have been selected for this honor before Tyler Hansbrough.
