Turkey bars men from football matches
September 22nd, 2011 - 9:45 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 22 (IANS) Turkey has barred men from watching football matches of teams whose fans have shown unruly behaviour, it was reported here.
Turkey’s football association has set rules that say only women and children under 12 will be able to see matches involving teams whose fans have been sanctioned for unruly behaviour, The Sun reported Thursday.
Over 41,000 women and children went to Fenerbahce’s Sukru Saracoglu stadium to watch the Istanbul side play Manisapor early this week.
For the first time in the world, only women and children watched the game, according to the newspaper.
