Dec 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After almost 9 years, Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson is unable to get the tuck rule out of his brain. Even today he gets nightmares regarding the time he had played for the Oakland Raiders. He dodged the ball away from New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady. Tom Brady’s arm was moving forward when he was hit by Charles Woodson. That particular move of Charles Woodson made way for an incomplete pass in the snowy Gillette Stadium.
Charles Woodson was last year’s NFL’s defensive player of the year. He signed with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night for playing against the new England Patriots. There is supposed to be more snow and the playoff prospects of his team are again in the risk of facing a loss. Charles Woodson, who was then a member of Oakland Raiders, said to the media that he keeps getting the flashback of that particular tuck off move more than he would like. He also said that he sometimes watches that game on the classic football channel, and that memory is pretty bad for him. It seemed apparent that Tom Brady was trying to tuck the ball within his body even though the rule says that at the time the ball gets loose, if then the arm is moving forward, it is an incompletion.
Speaking to a particular sports reporter, Charles Woodson talked in length about his role in the infamous “Tuck Rule” playoff game. The memory seemed to haunt him from time to time even when the incident had taken place 9 seasons ago between the Patriots and Oakland Raiders. Charles Woodson was a player of Oakland Raiders then. The player says that he still thinks about the game. Surely, the memory of the game hurts him.
