Tremlett to miss Edgbaston Test
August 9th, 2011 - 5:25 pm ICT by IANSEdgbaston, Aug 9 (IANS) English paceman Chris Tremlett has been ruled out of the third Test against India here Wednesday because of a back injury.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed Tuesday that the fast bowler will miss the Wednesday match, and added he “will receive ongoing treatment ahead of the fourth Test.”
Steven Finn was already included as a cover in the squad for Tremlett.
Tremlett had missed the second Test at Nottingham last week after suffering tightness in his hamstring and then back spasms. He did not practise this week.
Tim Bresnan, who took Tremlett’s place in the second Test, scored 90 and picked up five wickets in the second innings. He is likely to retain his place.
