London, Apr 19 (ANI): Ace striker Yaya Toure’s winning goal against Manchester United in Wembley has saved Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini’s job.

The Italian’s future was in the balance after a season of fights, feuds and flare-ups at Manchester City, as Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho was tipped to take over in the summer.

But the win over United has changed that - for now. Mancini is a hero after guiding City to their first final in 30 years, The Sun reports.

City is favourites to end their miserable 35 years trophy drought when they take on Stoke City in the final at Wembley next month.

“The only danger to Mancini now is a Wembley flop or if he fails to finish in the top four - but nobody’s expecting that. The place is buzzing and there’s a real belief that this is the start of something special at the club,” said a City source.

City is fourth in the table, three points ahead of Tottenham with a vastly superior goal difference, although the Londoners do have a game in hand. (ANI)
