stage6The league of Tour De France 2009 has moved in to the next stage which is the sixth one. Here on the battle gets a whole lot tougher as competition gets more and more stiff. The riders are due to enter Spain today, in the sixth leg of their journey, after a week of strenuous riding over rough terrains.

The route that the competing riders will require to follow is the one that would require them to travel 180 km from Girona to Barcelona. This area is very familiar to quite a few of the riders in the group, like seven times champion Lance Armstrong, who had had a training base in Girona for a number of years. The American Armstrong, remained almost at the tail of the overall leader Fabian Cancellara, prior to today’s action, making it all the tough to determine a clear cut derivation regarding the winner as of now.

The first set of difficulties that the riders are going to encounter in the sixth leg of the Tour de France 2009, is going to be the crossing of the Massif Central, which is supposed to clear the conceptions of the eventual ending of the race. Before they reach the summit finish line at the Super Besse, it would be quite easy to make out which of the riders are in the best of shapes and who has bent over.
This patch of riding will see the cyclists ride their bikes over the non mountain stage before they dive in to three straight days of climbing in the Pyrenees.
