tour Paris, October 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Route for the 2010 Tour De France has been declared. The cyclists will have to ride through some rocky roads of Pyrenees in the race. Lance Armstrong had won the race for seven times and he would be a major highlight in the 100th year of the tour. Alberto Contender, the defending champion would also catch a lot of attention in the 2010 race. Riders will have to race through this rocky area for four stages of the race.

The route for next year’s Tour De France was declared on Wednesday. Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong, winner for seven times were present in the ceremony when the route was declared. Organizers of Tour De France decided to select the route through the Pyrenees for marking the centenary of the tour. Hundred years back in 1910, the riders of the tour had crossed these routes. They have climbed the Aubisque pass, Tourmalet pass, Aspin pass and Peyresource pass. Riders would have to climb Tourmalet pass twice. It is one of the hardest routes to cross and the riders would face tough challenges.

In 2010, the participants of the race will not only face challenges from the competitors but also from the weather and the tracks. They would have to bear the North Sea Winds. As stated by the sources, the cyclists will have to stay four days at the Bearn which lies between Spain and France.

Tour de France of 2010 is expected to be more exciting than the races that had taken place in the last few years. Alberto Contador is named among some of the best competitors and it is expected that he would give tough challenges to his competitors.
