Tottenham beat Norwich to close in on the top two
December 28th, 2011 - 8:03 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 28 (IANS) Tottenham Hotspur kept their hopes alive of winning the English Premier League thanks to a brace from Gareth Bale in a 2-0 victory over Norwich City away at Carrow Road.
Tottenham Hotspur, with one game in hand, narrowed the gap within seven points of the top two and consolidated its third place after its away victory Tuesday.
Spurs, who had 64 percent possession in the game, left it a touch late to the liking of their supporters as the Welsh winger Bale scored twice late in the second half.
Playmaker Luka Modric also contributed to the critical victory with his excellent ability of holding play and creating space in the midfield for the other players to thrive.
