Top stars for Global Green golf
August 31st, 2009 - 8:51 pm ICT by IANSBangalore, Aug 31 (IANS) The cream of Indian golfers, including Mukesh Kumar, Digvijay Singh, Rahil Gangjee, Harmeet Kahlon and Shamim Khan, will be seen in action in the Global Green Bangalore Open 2009, a 72-hole strokeplay event, to be held here Sep 2-5.
The tournament will have a total purse of Rs.30 lakhs. The winner will receive Rs.4.8 lakhs.
The venue, the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA), is considered a challenge for golfers with the strategically located hazards and lightening fast greens.
In 2007, the course was further upgraded to a championship course, a Par 72 with 7227 yards.
Padamjit Sandhu, director of Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), said: “The Global Green Bangalore Open is now an established event on the AIRCEL-PGTI, and is keenly awaited by our players.”
