Tony Barbee All Set To Coach Auburn

Auburn, Alabama, Mar 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed college basketball coach Tony Barbee has been appointed as the head coach of Auburn University. The news that Tony Barbee is all set to assume responsibilities as the head coach of Auburn has been confirmed by the school on Wednesday. The new coach would be the successor of Jeff Lebo, who was terminated by Auburn after the team could not make it to the NCAA tournament.
The 38 year old reputed basketball coach’s association with the Auburn University would indeed be special as Tony Barbee is the first black head coach of Auburn in a major sport. At the same time, it has been revealed that on Thursday, Tony Barbee would be formally assuming his duties as the head coach of Auburn in the Auburn Arena in a news conference. While talking about the new coach of the team, Jay Jacobs, the athletic director at Auburn implied that Tony Barbee has the vision to get the Auburn basketball team to compete in various championship and the passion to make them win. The Auburn athletic director also described the team’s new coach as a phenomenal coach, an exceptional recruiter as well as a strong competitor. Moreover, it has also been emphasized that Tony Barbee is the perfect person to lead the Auburn basketball team as he shared its value.
Meanwhile, the new Auburn coach has also released a statement in which he has expressed his excitement to have been bestowed with the opportunity to join the Auburn family and also added that he was extremely proud to be assuming the head coaching responsibilities in Auburn University.
