Tim Toone Becomes The Last Pick Of NFL Draft

tim2Allen Park, Apr 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tim Toone became the last player to be picked up from the NFL draft 2010 on Saturday. Tim Toone of Weber State who was the day’s last choice at No. 255 was picked up by the Detroit Lions team. Though many have marked him as the Mr. Irrelevant of the year, on Saturday both the team management and the player seemed confident about the pick. Shortly after Tim Toone’s name was announced for the draft pick on Saturday, the player said to the media sources that he will work hard to prove his worth. He said that try to become one of the significant players of the team and contribute to the Detroit Lions success. Detroit Lions have last year managed to win very few games.

Tim Toone who is 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds, has in last two seasons caught 167 passes and managed 29 touchdown catches. He is also a good punt runner and has maintained an average of 19.9 yards per return in the last season. Tim Toone revealed to a media source reportedly that he has heard comparison of him being made to Wes Welker of the New England Patriots.

The Detroit Lions Coach Jim Schwartz on Saturday said that the team has picked Tim Toone for the player has the ability to play as an “outside receiver, slot receiver and also punt returner”. He added that Tim Toone has in his previous team made major contributions as a punt runner. Jim Schwartz also praised the quickness of the player and it is this speed that the team is thinking of putting to good use.
