Florida, Nov 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The news of the high profile affair between the number one golfer Tiger Woods and the New York socialite Rachel Uchitel was brought into the limelight by National Enquirer, which quoted Rachel’s friend in the affair story.

Rachel Uchitel has denied the affair and even claimed that National Enquirer paid a few thousand dollars to her friend to cook up the story. She said that she was ready to undergo a polygraph test too, to prove her side of the story but National Enquirer slammed her offer.

However Tiger Woods hasn’t spoken on this topic at all. There was no reaction from his side for 2 days following the accident with his SUV, but yesterday he did release a statement but didn’t speak on this matter directly and neither indirectly. There has been no confirmation and neither denial of the affair from his side.

He wrote that he understood that the people and the media especially wanted details, but he wanted to keep it strictly as a family matter only. He said that the incident and the subsequent publicity that it got has been very stressful and a cause of tension for the whole family including the top notch golfer Tiger Woods himself, so he wanted privacy in the matter as it is also a personal issue for them, and not for the media consumption.

He said, “This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible,” Woods wrote. “The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.”
