Tiger Woods will get back on top, says Aussie expert Steve Bann

Melbourne, Mar 24(ANI): Steve Bann, a leading Australian golf coach, thinks that Tiger Woods is close to returning to his former greatness with just a few weeks to go before the US Masters.
Bann had watched Woods warm-up before the final round of the World Golf Championships event in Miami two weeks ago.
“I’ve been lucky over the years, I’ve been able to watch Tiger practice and I’ve got a pretty good idea of the type of things he goes through. At Doral, he was warming up before the last round and it just caught my eye that it looked like it had much more flow and he looked more comfortable with it. It looked noticeably different,” the Herald Sun quoted Bann, as saying.
“I wasn’t surprised he had a good round that day. I like where he’s going, but when you’re trying to change your motor pattern, you’ve really got to overload it, otherwise the underlying or dominating motor pattern will keep turning up any time you’re under any stress at all.”
“Once he gets comfortable with this new action, which is going to be simpler, once he gets back to his shotmaking, he’ll get back to his winning ways, I’ve got no doubt,” he added.
Woods, who had lost the World No.1 ranking to Lee Westwood in October 2010, had earlier said that he was committed to getting back to the top with his game.
“I still feel I can win golf tournaments. I’m not that old. I figure I’ve got some years ahead of me. I don’t always win. I’ve certainly lost a lot more tournaments than I’ve won. But it’s the goal every week you tee up and that doesn’t change,” Woods had said.
The 35-year-old has won 14 professional major golf championships, the second highest of any male player, and 71 PGA Tour events, third all time.
He has more career major wins and career PGA Tour wins than any other active golfer.
He is also the youngest player to achieve the career Grand Slam, and the youngest and fastest to win 50 tournaments on tour. (ANI)
